While away, his ship is attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts. Since the man is now thought to be dead, Princess Buttercup finds herself with no choice but to marry the heir of the throne in Florin. He goes by the name Prince Humperdinck. Before her wedding, she is kidnapped by three outlaws. Soon enough, Westley finds and rescues her, proving that he was not dead at all.
If you want to recreate the Princess Buttercup costume, it is fairly simple to do. Start with a Red Peasant Dress and Long Blonde Wavy Wigs with Gold Bridal Crown to nail the iconic look. Then, add Flat Round Toe Shoes and Green Leather Gloves with you. Now, you will be ready to wear the famous outfit to your next convention or Halloween party.
The Princess Buttercup costume is an easy one to put together, thanks to its simple pieces.
To start, you will first want to find a red dress with large sleeves and a billowy skirt. If you can find a peasant dress that has a gold tie in the center, that would be ideal. If not, you can just add your own. Princess Buttercup wears a pair of black leather gloves, so you will need those to pull off the look. She also wears a jeweled gold-toned crown on her head that you will not want to skip. On her hip, she carries a gold-toned dagger. You can find an inexpensive prop dagger to serve its purpose. Last but not least are her shoes. She wears a simple pair of white slippers. A pair of neutral white flats will do just fine.
Princess Buttercup is the main character in the movie The Princess Bride, which was released in 1987. This character is a princess from the fictional land of Florin, a kingdom in the movie. Later on, she falls in love with a man named Westley. He is a farmhand that is hired to work for her. Soon enough, the two of them decide they want to marry. Westley leaves on an adventure to try and earn enough money to be able to marry Princess Buttercup.
On this journey, Westley gets attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts. It has been believed that Westley is dead for a while, but that is not the case. Thinking he is dead, Princess Buttercup is forced to marry the Florin heir to the throne, Prince Humperdinck. Before their wedding, she gets kidnapped. In the end, Westley shows up very much alive to rescue her.
