Fred has a cool and stoic demeanor, but he does have a bit of cowardice that he tries to hide. Whenever he has the rare opportunity to explore on his own in places that may be haunted, it usually shows through.
Additionally, Fred is much less intelligent and forgetful than he appears to be. During his childhood, Fred wasn't the leader he is now and was instead a hyperactive and superstitious kid who got picked on quite a bit by the neighborhood bully, Red Herring.
